Cuerden Valley Park for many years has been a free public space. However it is currently under threat of closure as it does not generate enough revenue for the upkeep of the park.
The park does not receive any government/local government funding.
Sadly this means that the park could face closure and not be readily available to the public, 365 days a year, as it has been.
To help the Trust financial footing Cuerden Valley Park is hosting a Farmers’ Market. once a month (usually every 4 weeks) to generate an income to help in the upkeep of the park.
Please become involved either by becoming a Friend of Cuerden or by supporting the Farmers Market and Craft Fair, this will help the park immensely.
I know many people would be sad to see the demise of the park and it is important that as a community we invest in the upcoming events to ensure the park remains open to the public.
